What stays on your phone

Your name and the look of your avatar are saved on your device (in the app, or in your browser for the web player). They're sent to the people in a game you host or join, so they can see who's playing. You can change or clear them any time.

Playing nearby

Offline games connect iPhones directly over Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth. Nothing goes through our servers. Cnvene asks for local network access only to find and join games near you.

Playing online

Online games run on our server at relay.cnvene.app, which runs on Cloudflare. While a room is open, the server keeps what the game needs: the room code, each player's name and look, and the game itself, such as roles, cards, scores and the names, words and slips players type. It sends each phone only what that player is allowed to see. Everything is deleted when the room closes: when the host closes it, 5 minutes after the host leaves, or after 12 hours at the most.

To stop abuse, the server counts requests from each IP address for one minute at a time. Those counts are kept in memory only and aren't stored or logged by us. Cloudflare processes connection data, such as IP addresses, to run and protect its network, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Camera

The camera is used only to scan a game's QR code. Images aren't saved or sent anywhere.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details. The app checks with Apple which games your Apple ID has unlocked.

Website statistics

This site and the web player use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn't use cookies or identify you.

Children

Cnvene doesn't ask for or collect personal information from anyone, including children.
